Jefferson, NC - Ashe County Airport Apron and Taxilane Rehabilitation

Ashe County and the Ashe County Airport (Airport) are proceeding with the Apron and Taxilane Rehabilitation Project which consists of pavement improvements of existing apron near Taxiway B connector and northwest taxilane near Runway 10. The project also includes construction of new apron adjacent to the existing apron as well as rehabilitation of two existing concrete aprons near hangars on the south side of the airport. The overall scope of work for the project will include removal of existing pavement and marking, proposed asphalt paving, pavement milling, concrete pavement removal, aggregate base course, grading, drainage and erosion control, LED taxiway lighting and signage, electrical cable installation, pavement marking, and seeding and mulching.

All Contractors are hereby notified that they shall have proper Contractor’s licenses as required by the state laws governing their respective trade in the state where this Project is located.

Contractor shall meet the following bidding requirements:

• Contractors must be listed on the NCDOT Prequalified list as a bidder or Prime to bid on this project.

• Contractors, including subcontractors, must have a NC Contracting License pertaining to their discipline of work.

• Contractors, including subcontractors, must be prequalified by the NCDOT to perform the work pertaining to their specific scope of work in the contract. The prime contractor for the project must be prequalified by the NCDOT as a prime.

• Work codes for this project include, but are not limited to: 001605 TEMPORARY SILT FENCE, 008020 AIRFIELD ASPHALT PAVING, 008060 AIRFIELD LIGHTING, SIGNAGE AND NAVIATION AIDS, 008100 AIRFIELD MARKINGS, 000225 ROADWAY GRADING AND EXCAVATION, 000520 AGGREGATE BASE COURSE, 000607 MILLING ASPHALT PAVEMENTS, 000610 ASPHALT CONCRETE PLANT MIX PAVEMENTS, 000840 MINOR DRAINAGE STRUCTURES (DROP INLETS, CATCH BASINS, ETC.), 001660 SEEDING AND MULCHING

• Work code 00099 OTHER will not be accepted unless otherwise approved by the NCDOT or NCDOA that the work associated with that work code description for the contractor matches the work for the project.
